REC Whitney Recap: Love, Drugs, and Bobby Brown’s Side of the Story

On January 17th, 2015 life time premiered the life story of Whitney Houston. All though the movie was very thought provoking, it held a very strong message as far as drug addiction and the form of it’s abuse. Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston were even portrayed as a couple addicted to their selves. It held a sad story line along with showcasing how much of a strong talent Whitney Houston held and how much of a downward spiral she encountered through her drug abuse. In our opinion we believe that Angela Basset accomplished showing the world a microscopic view of their relationship. Many things were revealed that some of us may not have had any clue of. For instance, Whitney Houston’s brother was her drug provider before Bobby Brown. Hopefully people who may have a drug addiction problem, have watched this movie and have received a grand wake up call.

We will always love and admire Whitney Houston. S.I.P.

Ratchet Chick Alert: Nicki Minaj TRIES 2 COME 4 Mariah Carey!!!!!

So, while the American Idol auditions are taping, Nicki Minaj seems to have a “Baby Diva” moment on Mariah Carey – The “Mega Diva” and tries to come for her. In the video, Nicki goes on one of her “Krusty the Clown” rants claiming “people got her f*cked up” and demands some immediate respect. As expected, Mariah responds to little Nicki in a classy manner of course, latter tweeting: “WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY”.

I feel your pain Mariah. Why did they let this circus clown out the cage. SMDH!

Sunday night, Jay Z. Rocked Brooklyn right. It was very str8 to the point! On some lyricist type joint with drinks on the menu at a brand new venue. It was a late start but as soon as 9:30 kicked in the lights dimmed dark. Even Oprah’s Gayle was in the house. R.E.C. got some clips to show for those who won’t make it this month. Brooklyn believes they got one. Word, no rapper has done it this way yet; so Jay Z. deserves credit where it’s due. Hopefully they bring out more artists that can rock that building too.

Gabby Douglas, a 4-11 bundle of dazzling strength and agility, captured the Olympic women’s gymnastics individual all-around title in North Greenwich Arena here Thursday night, with a performance that belied her 16 years.

Douglas becomes the first African-American to win the Olympic women’s all around. She follows Nastia Liukin (2008) and Carly Patterson (2004) to give America the overall individual champion three Olympics running.

Gabby, is now the champion of women’s gymnastics. BOOOOM!

OK! This question is pretty simple but is the answer that hard? Or is it not!?! Well… R.E.C. Blog would like to know which female rapper has done it the best & shut it down with their lyrical content?  Nicki Minaj is flaring the charts & bickering with Hot 97. Are you serious? On June 4th, 2012 she had Flex sweating behind his mic. “Hardcore”? Yet Lil Kim, Ms. Brooklyn Stand Up, Hard as Hell is stressing over Nicki Minaj.  Foxy Shivering of Crack & Eve trying to find a space in this game.  Lauryn Hill to R.E.C.’s knowledge, well maybe; Has Done the Damn Thing! Is Hip Hop for Females or Females for Hip Hop? Missy is Missing, did beats but not really.  All though her creativity was always dope! Then MC Lyte had common sense and Queen Latifah is a self made entrepreneur.  Hip Hop has opened the acting door for the Hip Hop Queen and she’s still rocking after the millenium.
