CRACK is WACK! MAIA CAMPBELL NEEDS PRAYERS!

We can be dead while walking alive by putting poison into our system. This is not a joke and it’s extremely sad. Maia Campbell was a talented actress/model and drugs/crack brought her down. We all must keep a strong mind when it comes to drugs in saying “NO”. “No” is a complete sentence. Walk out of the room full of crack if you have too. She surrounded herself amongst the wrong crowd and now everyone is laughing at her. A beautiful Actress gone dead wrong. Taking the time to view the video caption makes it feel as if she’s not alive anymore. May strong prayers revive her back.

Blues Singer/Legend/Queen of Blues “Etta James” dies at 73

Etta James, the fiery blues singer known best for her uncharacteristically sweet ballad “At Last,” died Friday morning in Riverside, Calif., after a long battle with chronic leukemia. She was 73.

One of the first women inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will truly be missed and her music will live on forever! Etta James held a unique voice. Although tremendously under-rated, there are not enough words to describe our African-American Legend Ms. Etta James. As a young woman today, listening to Etta James was like being taught by a Grandmother/Mother/Woman with experience about love. A person who showed you her experience with love or what she yearned for as a woman without having a care in the world about who sees her vulnerabilities.

In today’s music, there are still many artist who take from Etta James; example: “Adele” but still the talented Blues Singer appears to be under-rated or the respect she deserves was never paid properly. Beyond all of this, her work speaks for it self and her material remains refreshing. Thank you for Blessing the world with your music and feelings.

R.I.P. Ms. Etta James!

President Obama, Sings a little Something Something @ Apollo Theater

I guess everybody gets inspired to sing when they hit the Apollo stage…

President Barack Obama, traveled to four fundraisers in New York City last night, but one of them stands out in particular. Giving his remarks at the historic Apollo Theater, President Obama briefly broke out into song. The commander-in-chief showed off some impressive singing abilities. After mentioning that soul legend Rev. Al Green was at the event, Obama belted out a short rendition of Green’s classic hit “Let’s Stay Together.”

You got my vote for 2012!

In Honor of The KING! Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.” — Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The 83rd birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr., was actually January 15th, but in honor of one of American’s greatest heroes, a national holiday commemorates it today. We celebrate the gains and revolution ushered in by the civil rights pioneer and activist. For African-Americans and for any group which has been discriminated against, King represents an integral part of our lives, our souls, and our freedoms. Although he died at the hands of hate, we continue to celebrate his life of love.

“Whatever size the difference you make, whether it affects one life or a million, makes all of humanity better. Every single bit counts.”

A Teacher, A Father and A Great Leader! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

REC LEAD BY EXAMPLE: Oprah’s Young Leaders In Training 1st Class Graduation

Like any parent, Winfrey beamed and cried as she watched 72 of her “daughters,” the school’s first class, graduate. The young women were dressed impeccably in a uniform of white dresses and matching white heels. They sang a song of gratitude and celebration in Zulu, a South African language. Family and friends cheered as each girl accepted her diploma.

The opening of the $40 million school, which is located an hour outside of Johannesburg in the small town of Henley-on-Klip, opened in 2007. Since its opening, the academy has faced challenges including accusations of abuse from a school official and the birth of a dead baby to one of the students. Even with the controversies, all but three of the original class of students is graduating, and all the graduates have been accepted to college.

Winfrey stressed that even though the journey at her school is ending for these young women, she expects them to achieve even greater accomplishments in college and beyond.

“When you invest in the leadership of girls you invest in a nation,” said Winfrey. “Every one of these girls is going to serve themselves, their family, community and country in ways that are yet to amaze you.”

REC NEW NEW: Jay-Z Featuring Baby Blue Ivy Carter, (His Baby Girl) – Glory

Just days after welcoming his new daughter Blue Ivy Carter, rapper Jay-Z premieres this new song called “Glory” as a tribute to his new baby girl! Throwing some of his most emotional verses yet, “The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real”, the just-released freestyle track, produced by Pharrell, also features vocals (baby sounds) from Ms Blue Ivy herself! Awwwww, a star has born! Jay-Z’s lyrics in “Glory” actually reveal lots of details we didn’t know of, like where the baby was ‘created’ (in Paris…), or that Beyonce had suffered from a miscarriage at one point. In any case, a very touching dedication to Blue Ivy this new song is. Huge congratulations again to both Jay-Z and Beyonce!

“She’s your Queen to be” (Coming to America Singing Voice) -Beyonce & Jay-Z Welcome Baby Girl

It’s a girl for Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z. The couple welcomed their first child together on January 7th, 2012. The singer and her husband named their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, (At least that’s what Jay-Z is telling pals at this point—the couple’s reps have not immediately responded to calls seeking comment.)

Friend and music mogul Russell Simmons was among the first to celebrate the arrival, tweeting the new parents: “congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z.”

Singer Rihanna tweeted last night: “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.”

The Daily News says Beyonce and Jay-Z paid more than $1 million to rent out the fourth floor at Lenox Hill, and security was so tight even doctors and nurses couldn’t get upstairs.

The singer reportedly checked into the hospital on Friday night under the name “Ingrid Jackson.”

Congrats to the Carter’s!

REC Hilarious:Snoop Dogg on The Price Is Right….WHAT!!!!!!

Snoop took to the airwaves yesterday, on Drew Carey’s version of TPIR, one of daytime’s longest-running game shows.

Snoop not only showed up to play the game, winning almost $73,000 for his Snoop Youth Football League charity, he hung out to hand out prizes like this 1962 Lincoln Continental.

The highlight of the show came when he put on his announcer’s voice for some of the classic game show lines; if this rap thing doesn’t work out for him, he could definitely end up a TV MC.

YOU GO UNCLE SNOOP! A MESS…..
